Bartender

My greatest passion as of late, next to adventuring, has been bartending! Getting to meet people, help ease them into venues, and mix up and serve drinks with detail has been a rapidly growing passion of mine. I bartend at venues all across the land!Mixing drinks is always a blast, especially when involving the customer in the process through detailed and high effort descriptions of the drink making process (fast, detailed RP). I use flair and zest to spice things up, tossing mixers up in the air only to spin around and snatch them before they hit the ground, slicing up fruits with a pair of sharp knives, using my tail to shift the glass around to catch every slice. That's not to mention the various cocktails I love coming up with. If you're interested in my own special cocktail, check out the D'elise Delight below!

Throughout it all, I make sure to talk up and chat with the customers at my bar. It's a bartender's duty to lend an ear after all! Plus it's one of the most enjoyable parts of the process, being able to listen to what new stories they might have to tell or share a few of my own! A nervous patron can easily be put to ease with a quick-tongued bartender to relax them into the environment of the venue. If you'd like to hire me for a venue, a private event, or as a freelance, please hit my contact section for details on how to reach me!

From the The Azim Steppes, Raisa set off at a young age to Eorzea to explore and learn more about the world and its people! With an inquisitive mind and silver tongue, she managed to secure passage to Eorzea through Kugane by volunteering to be the assistant of a Sharlyan scholar who was traveling the steppes to expand their knowledge of medicine. This set her on the path to become a Sage. She adopted the scholar's last name as her own, becoming Raisa D'elise.
At the same time, between adventures here and there, she'd often use that silver tongue at various bars and venues to chat up patrons and bartenders alike. She formed a love for far eastern mixed beverages, even crafting one of her own! The chance to experiment and play around with various mixes while also chatting up patrons of all kinds was something she'd always savor. Through this she found many a story undiscovered, many a tale never heard, and was always willing to be an ear to any who'd be willing to talk. Raisa found herself going from one venue to another, jumping from bartending to dealing gambling. However, her thirst for adventure is something that could never be quenched, neither could her curiosity. That's how she found herself taking up the tools and studies of a Machinist. She still roams the lands, adventure honed in her veins, but now she bounces between adventure and drinks alike! Continuing to explore, see new lands, and meet new people! Whether it be for thrilling adventure, dealing out a few hands of blackjack, sharing a drink or two, or something more.... intimate~

Backstory(under renovation)

Minor SB Spoilers
Raisa, like many Xaela, was born on the Azim Steppes. She grew up with one of the tribes there, though the memory is such a distant one she couldn't tell you any specifics. Some sights, some smells, some distance voices, but nothing concrete. All she can recall is racing over the fields, kites flying in the air above... As a child she always had a habit of wandering just a little too far, just a little too fast, just a little too much... These miniature adventures would cause the little Xaela to stray farther and farther from her tribe, coming back later only to earn the ire of the clan's matriarchs. Such inquisitiveness wasn't greeted with encouragement, but with disgust. It was a smaller tribe compared to the more infamous examples. They practiced a unique sect that taught reliance on the land, honoring one's ancestors, rigidly following their passed down dogma. Among other quirks included such aspects such as never quite knowing who her mother, or father, was. Raised in a communal nature, any one of the various adults or elders could have been her parents, though it fell to the older adolescents to raise her and her 'siblings'. Such an upbringing left room for... getting around the rules~
A rustling of a bush, a swish of a tail, and a peak of a head. Raisa glanced left and right, looking to make sure none of the elders or older kids were watching... Before dashing back into the camp, quickly slipping under her hut's covers. She looks at the book in her grasp, all too big in the hands of the young Xaela, grinning. The title was written with symbols she didn't quite understand yet... She made out 'pedia' and 'Eorz' but the rest.... "Raisa!!!" an elder's irritated call jolted her out of her stupor. She quickly stashed the book in her cot, hastily returning the call with "Coming!" The last thing she needed was the elder finding yet another book... especially after she was just chastised for the last four...This adventurer's desire resulted in her setting off from the Azim Steppes at a young age! But an Au Ra wouldn't be able to easily make it to such a place as Eorzea ... Unless of course, they had help. Raisa's inquisitive mind, quick wit, and silver tongue landed her the attention of a Sharlayan scholar who was traveling the steppes to expand their knowledge of medicine by incorporating native techniques."You can read?" The scholar tilted their head to the side, looking down at the now blushing Xaela. The smaller girl cocked her head from one side to another, a burning red on her cheeks. She holds up her fingers, index and thumb an ilm or so apart, muttering "Little..." Even standing at the edge of the encampment was drawing looks from the other tribe members. The scholar smiled, a devious expression that was either a boon to the Xaela... or a curse. She cooed in a voice as serene as the wind brushing the Steppes "Then you will certainly be a useful one..."Their journey with the Sharlayan Scholar: Juliette D'elise, wasn't easy. She was often simply used to speak the language, translate, or identify native flora and fauna. At the same itme, Juliette trained Raisa in Eorzean to better assist the scholar. However, every now and then, Raisa would sneak peaks into the various books Juliette D'elise carried with her. Instead of punishing the small Xeala, Juliette was impressed with Raisa's understanding of the concept, and recognized the teen's natural affinity. So, like that, Raisa was set onto the long and arduous path to become a Sage. When the Sharlayan sought passage to Eorzea through Kugane, she took the Xaela with her, finally realizing Raisa's dreams of adventure. The adventures in Eorzea were no less dangerous than those on the Azim Steppes, however in the latter, Raisa could at least identify and avoid most of the hazards. Ironically, to the two travelers, Eorzea was more dangerous than the untamed steppes. This was nothing to say about the journey itself, which almost saw them shipwrecked! The pair persevered, and Raisa honed her skills as a sage, just as much out of need to protect Juliette, as it was out of passion. Their course took them to Coerthas, and then the Dravanian highlands on a journey to the former Sharlayan colony of Idyllshire. It was during this journey that they were beset by dragons, and Juliette was gravely injured. Raisa managed to hold them off, nursing their mentor to health, all while carrying and dragging them through towards The Dravanian Hinterlands. No matter how bad the journey, no matter how much Juliette insisted Raisa leave her, the Xaela never left their mentor behind. Eventually, she managed to heal them using her honed abilities as a sage, and they finally managed to make it to Idyllshire. There the mentor finished their journey, finding an ancient tome of knowledge. This was where both of their journey's ended. Raisa was offered a chance to join Juliette on a journey back to Sharlayan, but she turned it down. Despite how much she enjoyed her studies, she was an adventurer at heart. Still, to honor her mentor, Raisa took on their last name, becoming: Raisa D'elise. So, the now adult Xaela made her way towards Eorzea proper, to the city of Gridania, to start her new adventure. After some time as an adventurer, Raisa realized that adventuring wouldn't pay the bills, much to the chagrin of several Scions. Still, over her years she had only honed her silver tongue and quick wit. So she would utilize these skills at the occasional bar here and there, landing her a temporary bartender position. The passion to experiment meant she became quite the mixologist, also dabbling in some homebrew, the latter producing concoctions that were probably banned under various articles of war. Her love of far-eastern beverages, a carryover from her time in the East, formed her focus on Far Eastern mixed beverages. This growing hobby soon turned into a job, especially given her outgoing and friendly personality, making her easy to talk to. The chance to experiment and play around with various mixes while also chatting up patrons of all kinds was something she'd always savor. Through this she found many a story undiscovered, many a tale never heard, and was always willing to be an ear to any who'd be willing to talk. Some patrons even taught her games of chance such as Blackjack and High Nines. She soon found herself supporting her adventures with a mix of odd-bartending jobs, and dealing games of chance.Eventually, Raisa found herself going from one venue to another, bouncing from one job to another. Finally, a chance encounter with a certain Au Ra lead her into the Crimson Lotus. Only through the generosity of its owner did she finally find herself behind a proper bar at this fine establishment, able to hone her bartending skills, and pursue the joy of conversing with patrons. It was through similar generosity, that she found late-night employment at the a premier gambling venue, a lounge owned by a well renowned Hyur businessman, who gave her the chance to hone her gambling skills. A tale would never be so interesting were it only high notes, however. During her journey she lost herself, and it was through a series of fortuitous events that she found herself under the guidance of two extremely well renowned Xaela. These two would be there with her through thick and thin, including when said arrangement with the Hyur businessman concluded. After that time had come, Raisa set out once more to find adventure, stories to tell, tales to listen to, and experiences to taste in! Such is how she found herself studying under the tutorledge of the skilled Machinists in the Skysteel Manufcatory and Sharlayan Magitek engineers. Such a passion has even matched her work as a Sage, and she's as of late taken up her gun just as much as she's taken up her nouliths...Raisa has found herself handling smaller, less glamouress affairs in the role of a Machinist. What started out as a passing fancy and passion for engineering that stemmed from her Sage studies, has evolved into something more. From the wastes of Uldah to the lush forests of Gridania, Raisa has immersed herself in mystery and adventure alike. Sometimes she's helping locals with a problem that some math and elbow grease can solve, as well as a few well placed levers. Other times... she finds herself hunting dangerous beasts, or worse. Regardless, the role of Machinist is one Raisa's immersed herself in passionately, and one she's enjoyed thoroughly. Such was how she encountered the woman she would one day call her wife. She still roams the lands living life to the fullest! Adventure was honed in her veins, but now she bounces between adventure and drinks alike! The rush of adrenaline can never be replaced, but neither can the smiles, laughter, and good memories made from a fun night bartending. Plus the thrill of a high-stakes blackjack hand will always get her blood going. This dragon continues to explore, see new lands, and meet new people! Whether it be for thrilling adventure, dealing out a few hands of blackjack, sharing a drink or two, or something more.... intimate~
